After learning circular breathing from a snake charmer in India, Ariel practiced it on soprano sax - for many sleepless nights - in the basement of a cathedral in New York (when he was not playing upstairs on the large harmonium). In the late 76, Ariel could include those endless notes into his own long-delay-effect system with which he toured, playing solo concerts. Ariel contributed to the birth of (then) new music genres: minimalist, space, ambient, new age, electronic etc. With his passion for recording and sound, Ariel always had a home studio (Astral Muse) and was also technical assistant to some of the composers at Paris GRM – Musical Research Group part of the INA (Audiovisual National Institute), where he recorded some of his compositions. Over 3 decades, Ariel Kalma published several vinyl LPs, cassettes, and CDs, many older ones out of print. His compositions have been used for modern dance-theatre, films, musical poetry, guided meditations, transformational groups. Ariel Kalma has also played on many albums in France - even throughout Europe, the US and recently Australia, where he lives. Our equipment improved and we recorded loads of music and had reviews in a few magazines. Anyone remember Electronics & Music Maker? No, didn't think you would. They hated us, BTW! I started making music again, circa 2001. I bought myself a midi keyboard and a copy of Cubase and took it from there really. Now I use FL Studio 6.08 with a Korg MicroKontrol and lots of VSTi's. I tend to make two kinds of music - the ambient/chilly sort and the up-tempo synthpop sort.

In 2000 Svetlana Shljachova joined Elements Of Sci-Fi as the new member.At the end of 2000, as a result of permanent political degradation and self-isolation of Belarus, the band members moved to Ghent (Belgium) where they now live.In January-February 2002 Elements Of Sci-Fi made their third album "Stratum". Mit Musik im allgemeinen habe ich angefangen, als ich sechs Jahre alt war. Erst 1996 habe ich zusätzlich zu meinem Geigenspiel die Entscheidung getroffen, in die Welt der elektronischen Musik einzutauchen und mich Samples und Synthesizern zu widmen. Mit Fotografie habe ich erst wesentlich später, nämlich 2001, begonnen. Was hat lastfuture vor? Das weiß ich selbst nicht so richtig. Es gibt zu viele Sachen, die ich beherrsche und immer noch genug Dinge, die ich so gut beherrsche, dass ich sie nicht aus den Augen lassen möchte. Gestaltung, Fotografie und Musik sind dabei nur ein paar der Gebiete, in denen ich mich auskenne. Animation und Programmierung zählen ebenso dazu wie Webdesign und Gestaltung generell. My mate and myself started off with a couple of Casio VL-Tones, a GEM organ and a fabulous two-track tape recorder made by Tensai, which had an inbuilt preset beatbox. It was wonderful. Our equipment improved and we recorded loads of music and had reviews in a few magazines. Anyone remember Electronics & Music Maker? No, didn't think you would. They hated us, BTW! I started making music again, circa 2001. I bought myself a midi keyboard and a copy of Cubase and took it from there really. Now I use FL Studio 6.08 with a Korg MicroKontrol and lots of VSTi's. I tend to make two kinds of music - the ambient/chilly sort and the up-tempo synthpop sort.
